Sister Ruth Christopher's brother's (Raghu's) eulogy delivered at her funeral service - August 18, 2012
The purpose and the focus of the the gathering this morning is not Ruth but Christ in her; it is testifying what Christ has done in and through her. Ruth was born into this world in 1947 and born again in 1965 at the age of about 18 when she was in the Medical College in India. Born again, meaning undergoing a spiritual birth or spiritual regeneration, that every one of us require. After completion of her medicine, she married Bro. Christopher in 1971. Her husband and she worked in Bahrain and Dubai for several years and thereafter went on full time service upon the Lord’s calling in early 90s. Their gift was hospitality. They traveled throughout the world to teach the word of God and to fellowship with saints. They mended broken marriages; broken churches; supported the needy individuals and churches financially and spiritually, and admonished and encouraged full time servants. I have received several tributes to her from different parts of the world. I will read only portions of some of the tributes due to limited time.
We miss Ruth Aunty as she was supporting Uncle Christopher’s ministry all over the world. – Bethesda House of Worship, Silver Spring, MD, USA.

---- The news of the sudden home call to glory of sister Mrs. Ruth Christopher ----has plunged hundreds of sisters and brothers into a sense of deep sorrow and loss. They would miss her and her inspiring ministry contributing to the salvation and growth of sisters, youth and children, through V.B.S. lessons. ---- Bro. K. Phillip, Madras, India.
To Brother Christopher and Sister Ruth: ---- We, too are suffering with you. --- El Shaddai and the Churches in the Hills.
----- Our dearly beloved sister, you were truly a‘Servant of the
Church and a succourer of many and a Mother in Israel’ --------------------- if
the Lord would give us our bro. Christopher back, we will endeavour to look
after him to the best of our ability in your absence. See you again at Jesus’
feet.

ReplyDeleteIt is such a great loss to Hebron to lose such a great woman of faith. She has been a great beacon of light a true reflection of love, compassion and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteShe has impacted many many souls for His kingdom. It was such a privilege and an honor to get to know her and pray with her while I was in Hyderabad, India.
I am sure our Lord and Saviour welcomed her with open arms and the heaven rejoiced over Ruth aunty's joining with the Saints in HEAVEN.
Praying for the family she left behind. Praying for uncle and other family members she left behind.

I heard that Uncle Christopher also passed into glory....Inspite of these sorrowful situation, we are LOOKING UNTO JESUS....Let us all humbly appreciate for the Legacy that Br.Raghu showed from his life and service and continue to pray for his life and future guidance from the Lord...I know that the Lord has a great PLAN for him...
